This policy covers the Edit PDF app for iPhone, published by Hbrothers L.L.C. (doing business as Hbro Studio). It does not cover our website or any other app. This page is published at https://www.hbro-studio.com/edit-pdf-policy.

The short version

Edit PDF has no account, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. We do not operate a server for this app, and the app makes no network requests of its own. Your PDFs, your signatures and your settings stay on your iPhone. The only way anything reaches us is if you choose to email us for support.

What we do not do

Every line here is true of the app you download from the App Store:

• We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
• We do not show ads and we do not work with ad networks.
• We do not track you, across this app or anywhere else. There is no advertising identifier and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to ask you about.
• We do not use an analytics or crash-reporting service. No third-party SDK in this app sends anything anywhere.
• We do not run a server for this app. There is nothing for us to store, so we store nothing.
• We do not upload, copy, read or scan your PDFs. They are opened and edited by code running on your iPhone.
• We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have.

What stays on the device

Everything the app remembers lives inside the app's own sandbox on your iPhone:

• Your PDFs. Files you import are copied into the app's Documents folder. Because the app is a registered PDF handler, you can also reach that folder yourself in the Files app, under On My iPhone → Edit PDF, and add or remove PDFs there directly.
• A small index of those PDFs, in the app's Application Support folder: file name, when it was added, when you last opened it, whether you starred it, and how many pages it has. The files always win a disagreement with the index.
• Your saved signatures, also in Application Support: the strokes of a signature you drew, and a PNG for a signature you photographed, plus the name and colour you gave each one.
• First-page previews of your documents, cached as PNGs so the library does not have to re-render a page every time you scroll.
• A handful of preferences, in the standard iOS preferences store: whether you have seen the introduction, whether you prefer the grid or the list, your sort order, and the counters behind the "do you want to keep this app free?" question (how many times you have saved, when we last asked, and whether you already said yes).

Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.

Backups. If you back your iPhone up to iCloud or to a computer, the app's folder is part of that backup, in the same way any app's folder is. That backup belongs to you and to Apple's or your computer's encryption — we never receive it and cannot read it.

Permissions we ask for, and why

The app asks for exactly one permission, and only at the moment you use the feature that needs it.

Camera — "Edit PDF uses the camera so you can photograph a signature you wrote on paper and place it on your PDFs." iOS asks the first time you choose to photograph a signature. The photo is turned into a signature image inside the app and saved to the app's own folder. It does not go to your camera roll and it does not go to us. If you say no, nothing else changes: you can still draw a signature with your finger, and every other tool works exactly the same.

Two things you might expect to be permissions are not:

• Choosing a photo uses the system photo picker. iOS shows you your library and hands the app only the single image you picked, so there is no photo library permission to grant and the app never sees the rest of your photos.
• Importing a PDF uses the system document picker or the Share sheet. iOS hands over the one file you chose. There is no "access to all your files" permission involved.

Things you send on purpose

Three actions in the app deliberately hand something to someone else. Each one is yours to start.

• Share a PDF. The Share sheet is Apple's, and it sends your document wherever you point it — Mail, Messages, iCloud Drive, another app. We are not a destination and we receive no copy. What happens next is between you and whatever you chose; that service's own privacy policy applies.
• Contact support. The support row opens your mail app with a message already addressed to info@hbro-studio.com, pre-filled with the app version so we know what you are running. Nothing is sent until you send it. When you do, we receive your email address, whatever you wrote and anything you attached. This is normally the only personal information we ever hold about anyone. We keep the thread only as long as it takes to answer you and then delete it.
• Rate the app. The rate row opens the App Store, and the occasional in-app question leads to Apple's own rating sheet. Your rating and review go to Apple, not to us, and Apple's privacy policy covers that. We never see who rated the app.

Legal basis (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

For the on-device data above, we are not processing personal data: none of it reaches us, and we have no way to see it. Your device is doing the work.

When you email us for support, we process your address and message under our legitimate interest in answering the person who wrote to us (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), and to perform our side of making the app work for you (Article 6(1)(b)). We do not use support correspondence for marketing.

How long we keep information

• PDFs, signatures, previews, index and preferences — on your iPhone only, until you delete them or delete the app.
• Support emails — in our mailbox, until the question is resolved, then deleted.
• Ratings and reviews — held by Apple under Apple's retention rules, not ours.

We hold nothing else, because there is nothing else to hold.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to complain to your local supervisory authority.

If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted or corrected, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information and we do not process it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is no opt-out to offer you. We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises a right.

In practice:

• To delete everything the app holds, delete the app from your iPhone. That is complete — we have no server copy to remove.
• To delete a specific PDF, remove it in the app, or in the Files app under On My iPhone → Edit PDF.
• To delete a saved signature, use the signature tool's menu in the editor.
• To revoke camera access, open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera, or Settings → Edit PDF.
• For anything involving us — a support email you want erased, a copy of what we hold — write to info@hbro-studio.com and we will act within 30 days. We may need to reply from the same thread to confirm it is you asking.

Children

Edit PDF is rated 4+ on the App Store because it has no objectionable content, but it is a document editing tool for general audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age). If you believe a child has emailed us, write to info@hbro-studio.com and we will delete the message.

Security

The app keeps your documents inside its iOS sandbox, which other apps cannot read, protected by your device passcode and iOS file encryption. Because the app has no server and sends nothing, there is no transmission of your documents to secure and no database of ours to breach.

Email is the exception, and we will not pretend otherwise: an ordinary email to our support address travels over the internet and is only as private as email generally is. Please do not attach a confidential document to a support message — describe the problem instead, and we will almost always be able to help without seeing your file.

International users

We are based in the United States. If you email us from outside the US, your message travels to and is read in the US. Nothing else about the app crosses a border, because nothing else leaves your iPhone.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is material — for example if a future version of the app started sending something somewhere — we will describe it here plainly rather than quietly editing a sentence, and the app's version notes will mention it.
