This policy explains what Camera Detector does with your information. It covers the Camera Detector iOS app published by Hbrothers L.L.C. and nothing else.

The short version. Camera Detector has no account, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. Your scans stay on your iPhone. The one exception is the optional AI analysis, which sends technical details about the devices found — never anything that identifies you — to our server so it can explain the results in plain language.

What we do not do

• We do not ask you to create an account, sign in, or give us your name, email address or phone number.
• We do not show advertising and we do not work with advertising networks.
• We do not track you, across this app or any other app or website. The app contains no analytics or attribution SDK.
• We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data or device identifiers.
• We do not sell or rent personal information, and we never have.

What stays on your iPhone

The following never leaves your device:

• Scan results. The list of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices found, and the risk assessment shown next to each one.
• The camera view. The colour filters are applied to the live preview only. Nothing is recorded, saved or transmitted, and the app has no access to your photo library.
• Magnetic readings. Measured from the iPhone's magnetometer and displayed in real time. Nothing is stored.
• App settings. Whether you have completed onboarding, and whether you have already been asked to rate the app. Stored in the app's own storage on the device, readable only by this app.

Deleting the app removes all of it.

The one thing that leaves your device: AI analysis

After a scan, the app can ask our server for a second opinion that explains each result in plain language. When that happens, we send a technical fingerprint of the devices found:

• Device names as they are broadcast by the devices themselves (for example "Living Room Speaker")
• Network service types and open ports
• Bluetooth service identifiers and manufacturer codes
• Private local network addresses, which are only meaningful inside your own network
• The verdict our on-device rules already reached

This is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to OpenAI to generate the explanation, and returns the result to your iPhone. We do not attach an account, a device identifier, or anything else that would let the request be linked back to you or to your other scans. We do not store these requests, and OpenAI does not use them to train its models; they may be retained briefly for abuse monitoring before deletion.

Note that the device names come from the devices around you, not from you. If a neighbour has named their speaker after themselves, that name will appear in the scan and in the request.

If the request fails or you are offline, the app simply shows the results from its on-device rules instead. The feature is not required for the app to work.

Permissions we ask for, and why

• Local Network. Required by iOS to look for devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network as you. Without it, the Wi-Fi scan cannot see anything.
• Bluetooth. Required by iOS to list the devices broadcasting a Bluetooth signal nearby. The app only listens; it does not pair with anything or send data to nearby devices.
• Camera. Used to show the live colour filters that make reflections and bright points easier to spot. The image is never recorded or sent anywhere.

You can refuse or revoke any of these in iOS Settings. The rest of the app keeps working; only the corresponding tool stops.

Legal basis (EEA and UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing the feature you asked for when we process the scan fingerprint to produce your analysis. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you.

How long we keep information

We do not operate user accounts and we do not build profiles, so there is no stored record of you to keep. Analysis requests are processed in transit and are not written to a database by us. Anything held on your iPhone remains there until you delete the app.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and to complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have equivalent rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.

Because we hold no account and no identifier for you, we usually have nothing on file to retrieve or erase. If you believe we hold something about you, write to info@hbro-studio.com and we will respond within the time limits set by applicable law.

Children

Camera Detector is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
